difficult people, hard people, mother in law, father in law, sister in law, brother in law, why are people so mean, why are people so annoying, why are people so sensitive, why are people so rude, life coach, in-law life coach

I NEED A LIFE COACH, AND SO DO YOU

When COVID-19 became a buzz word and everyone started to panic, I definitely had my own thoughts about all of it.

How are we ever going to get through this challenge when everyone’s losing their bloody minds? The fear, the speculating, the worst case scenarios.

Get a grip!

Well, that’s what I thought, until I heard my coach’s perspective on all of it.

I listened to a podcast she recorded about how to manage fear, and what she said stood out to me.

“However you’re reacting to this pandemic isn’t right or wrong. It just is.”

I had to process that for a minute.

So the people that are stockpiling toilet paper, wearing masks alone in their car, and watching the news all day aren’t wrong?

I decided to deepen my thoughts.

I contemplated all the people in the whole world. What about the people who have compromised health? What about people who struggle to stay mentally and emotionally strong, even when we aren’t experiencing a pandemic? What about the people who just opened a new businesses, or live paycheck to paycheck?

I got out my journal, put everything weighing on my brain on paper.

Here’s what I realized.

“HUMAN BEINGS GET TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT AND IT ISN’T RIGHT OR WRONG.”

But hold on.

What about the people who steal? What about people who hurt other people. What about murder? That is TOTALLY wrong.

Then I remembered something I learned from Byron Katie.

“THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF BUSINESS. YOUR BUSINESS, OTHER PEOPLE’S BUSINESS, AND GOD’S BUSINESS.”

Let’s break it down.

There is moral vs immoral. This is God’s business. I believe God has a perfect plan, which includes the perfect consequences. This is not my business.

There is legal vs illegal. These are laws of the land. When people break a law, the punishment is in place through the justice system. This is not my business.

Then came the aha moment.

I don’t need to worry about moral or immoral, legal or illegal, OR right or wrong, for anyone but ME.

What If I decided to stay in my own business and let God and other people handle the rest?

How could this DRAMATICALLY change my life and my relationships with others?

Sound amazing? Yes.

Easier said than done? Yes.

That’s because sometimes it takes an outside perspective to help us make really important, life changing shifts.

We’re all a work in progress, and that’s why we ALL need a life coach.

Just like hiring a personal trainer can push us to challenge our muscles and help us transform our bodies, a life coach can push us to challenge our thoughts and help us transform our lives.

If you’re ready for a life changing transformation,
I’d love to be your coach.
